In 2017, the former Middlesbrough player joined Birmingham on a permanent basis after leaving Burnley.
He later made 357 appearances, contributing 27 assists and 68 goals in all competitions.
“Now that my playing career has come to an end, I’m excited to begin a new chapter,” the former striker remarked on staying at St Andrew’s.
