Official: Hibs win the trade battle to sign 19-year old forward on loan terms

Ethan Williams, a young player for Manchester United, is being pursued by several teams, including Stockport, Blackpool, and Hibernian, as the Red Devils plot the next phase of the gifted attacker’s growth, insiders have told Football Insider.

Williams, who has spent the second part of the previous season with League Two Cheltenham, has been United’s top scorer in the UEFA youth Champions League for the last two seasons.

During his 778 minutes of senior football with the Robins, the 19-year-old contributed four goals, and United is prepared to loan him out once more the next season to help him further his development. At Old Trafford, Williams is well-liked, and the team is considering ways to loan him out at a level above League Two once more.

Ethan Williams has no place in the Manchester United first team. Williams still doesn’t have a spot at United, even after an outstanding season with Cheltenham.
Despite being well-liked by the team, the 19-year-old left-winger does not mesh well with Ruben Amorim’s tactical schemes.

Although Williams, a more traditional wide winger, demonstrated his skill as a crosser while playing for Cheltenham, the Portuguese manager’s 3-4-2-1 strategy does not play to the young player’s advantages. Additionally, there are several well-known players ahead of the young player in the first team hierarchy, with Matheus Cunha joining from Wolves and United aiming for Bryan Mbeumo.

Following playoff loss, Stockport is searching for attacking talent. Stockport was eliminated from the promotion battle by the O’s in the semi-finals, even though they finished nine points ahead of playoff finalists Leyton Orient and only five points behind Wrexham.
