One hospitalized after hit-and-run involving stolen pickup in Lincoln, police searching for driver

Lincoln Police is searching for the person who crashed a stolen pickup truck into two cars and then ran away from the scene on Thursday.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Lincoln Police is searching for the person who crashed a stolen pickup truck into two cars and then ran away from the scene on Thursday.

Officers responded to the area of 48th and Holdrege streets around 6:20 p.m. for a crash involving a red pickup truck, a while sedan and a grey sedan.

A preliminary investigation determined the driver of the pickup was traveling recklessly northbound on 48th Street and ran a red light at the intersection, according to police. The pickup collided with the white sedan, which was heading west on Holdrege, and then hit the grey sedan, which was traveling south on 48th Street.

Police said the driver of the pickup got out and ran away from the scene. The truck was later determined to be stolen.

The driver of the white sedan was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

Police are still looking for the pickup driver.
