
The possibility of losing outstanding center back Cristian Romero, who is still regarded by other Premier League players as the best player in his position in world football, must be a major concern for Tottenham following the firing of Ange Postecoglou.
In order to maintain a running shortlist of the top Romero successors in the event that the 26-year-old Argentine international submits an official transfer request, Tottenham has been monitoring center back options throughout European football, mostly in Serie A.
As Romero’s value to Spurs increased throughout the Europa League title run, Atletico Madrid’s interest in signing him waned. However, Romero, the 2024–25 Europa League Player of the Tournament, may give them a hint shortly.
When considering center back options, Tottenham should prioritize Kim Min-jae’s name. Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germany reported that Bayern Munich has identified Kim as a “clear candidate” to sell this summer and is willing to move the 28-year-old in exchange for a “suitable” offer.
