Oxford United pull out of Reading FC friendly meeting
Reading will play Slough Town, their Berkshire neighbours, on Tuesday after Oxford United cancelled their preseason match

Ahead of their second season back in the Championship, the U’s were scheduled to visit Bearwood for a behind-closed-doors match
the following Tuesday. However, Gary Rowett’s team has cancelled because they would rather play in the evening.
As a result, the Rebels will make the short journey down a couple of motorway junctions to provide opposition at the training ground.
Scott Davies, the former Reading midfielder, is player-manager at Arbour Park and his National League South side have lost just once
so far in pre-season.
Reading needed a replay to squeeze past Slough in the FA Cup in 1991/92 after a thrilling 3-3 draw in Round One.
Portsmouth round off pre-season at the SCL Stadium next Saturday before League One gets underway at Lincoln City’s Sincil Bank on
August 2.
