Since current manager Miron Muslic has initiated negotiations with a German second-tier team, Plymouth Argyle will begin their hunt for a new manager.
After two seasons in the Championship, the Pilgrims were demoted back to League One this month.
Muslic was well-liked at Home Park and had plans for the upcoming season after leading the battle to the very end and eliminating Liverpool from the FA Cup.

German powerhouse Schalke is reportedly the party negotiating with Muslic.
Although Plymouth Argyle acknowledged that they are “frustrated” by the choice, they also acknowledged that a new manager will take over in the dugout come August.
“Argyle can certify that, after he stated his wish to meet with the German squad rather than go back to England, we have grudgingly permitted Head Coach Miron Muslic to begin negotiations with a 2. Bundesliga team.
Even though they have been in constant contact since the season finished and there have been no reports of any problems, Miron has recently stated that this opportunity gives him the ability to spend more time with his family after being away from them for four years.

“We have put in place clear structures, procedures, and people to support Miron and his coaching team as we want to return to the Sky Bet Championship as soon as possible, therefore we are disappointed by this decision.
In addition, the team has made swift moves to add new players, and Miron has verbally assured the team time and time again that he is dedicated to Argyle and would stop at nothing to assist them return to the second division.
“After leaving Cercle Brugge, Muslic took a break from the game until signing a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Greens in January 2025. Only four months into that long-term commitment, he will now depart from Argyle.
“We hope he has the finest career possible.
