The departure of Miron Muslic has been a major source of frustration for Plymouth Argyle, who are heading down to League One and have already been active on the transfer front. According to Sky Sports, goalkeeper Dan Grimshaw is nearing a £600,000 move to Norwich City (Transfer Centre, 02/06/25, 09:01).
German powerhouse FC Schalke 04 has signed Muslic, but it is quite doubtful that he will be the only player leaving Home Park this summer.
It is inevitable for players to advance, with some probably returning to higher levels. Goalie Dan Grimshaw appears to be among the first to make such a move. Grimshaw, a goalkeeper for Plymouth Argyle, is reportedly close to joining Norwich City of the Championship in a £600,000 deal, according to Sky Sports. PAFC is recouping its investment on the former Manchester City player, whom they acquired for the same sum last year. If negotiations between the player and the buying club go as planned, Grimshaw might have a physical this week. Grimshaw, who played at Lommel SK under rumored inbound manager Liam Manning, may be the first player to join the Canaries as they look to overhaul their goalkeeping unit.
Plymouth Argyle recruited 27-year-old Grimshaw from Blackpool last summer. He was brought in under Wayne Rooney and shared starting ‘keeper responsibilities with Conor Hazard.
Grimshaw spent most of 2025 as a backup and played PAFC minutes primarily during Hazard’s injury-plagued first half of the season. Few would blame him for his record, which included just one clean sheet and 56 goals given up in 24 games.
It will be hoped that the Mancunian receives a little more assistance at his next club so that he can demonstrate his on-the-ball skills and shot-stopping ability more. He was occupied in goal and received little protection from the defense in front of him.
Both Norwich City and Plymouth Argyle are in for a busy summer filled with change.
Bridges has undoubtedly been burned after reaffirming his commitment to the club, but many will point to Schalke’s stature and the difficulty of turning down such a job. As previously mentioned, Manning appears set to take the reins in Norfolk, but it will be interesting to see how Muslic is replaced in Devon after his move to Schalke. The Canaries will be eager to push towards the top end of the second tier, while Argyle look to build a team capable of challenging for an immediate Championship return. Both will be under new management as well.
