Macaulay Langstaff could be the perfect Hardie replacement
Remember how Langstaff was a goal machine two years ago? He was dominating the National League and then League Two with Notts County. He was rewarded for his performance by being transferred to Millwall, a Championship team.
The striker has since dropped in the hierarchy at The Den after failing to maintain his prolific scoring streak in the second division. The 28-year-old played 34 games during his one season with the team and only managed one goal.
Langstaff might adjust to life in League One considerably more quickly than he did in the Championship, having already demonstrated his superiority in front of goal in League Two.
The striker is comparable to the present Argyle number nine in that he has a proven eye for goal that any Hardie replacement would need, along with good speed that would make him equally effective in a high press.
