Portsmouth share incredible Fratton Park announcement ahead of 25/26 Championship.

So far, Portsmouth’s summer hasn’t been very impressive. Pompey have lost several key players since securing their Championship survival at Fratton Park. Freddie Potts has returned to West Ham after his loan period ended. Portsmouth have also dropped out of the competition for Rob Atkinson, with Bristol City expected to keep the defender. In addition, John Mousinho has been linked with a move away from Portsmouth as fears about next season mount. However, this has not deterred Pompey fans from maintaining optimism.

12,000 Portsmouth season tickets are renewed in a fantastic show of faith

The Fratton Park fans have traditionally shown out in large numbers, and the 2025/26 season is expected to be no exception. According to Portsmouth (30 May), 12,000 season tickets have been renewed, preparing for the next season. This is a fantastic display of faith by the fanbase as the South Coast club enters a difficult transfer window.

Portsmouth’s fanbase has always been loyal

Portsmouth’s CEO, Andy Cullen, recently confessed that the club’s spending power is modest when compared to freshly promoted sides. However, despite fears of another relegation struggle, Pompey fans will continue to support their team next season.

Mousinho needs to ensure that Portsmouth’s fanbase is repaid for their support

Now that it is evident that Mousinho will be supported by the fans next season, he must ensure that this faith is rewarded. The 2025/26 season is projected to be significantly more competitive around the bottom of the table, with numerous teams vying for the Championship top half. Birmingham City and Wrexham, both newly promoted, will hope to play in the Premier League. Furthermore, Charlton has proven to be Portsmouth’ nightmare side in recent years. As a result, it will undoubtedly be another difficult task for Mousinho, but one that he can easily handle. Hopefully, the current season’s performance can be repeated, with a top-half finish not out of reach if the transfer window is favourable.
