A fire severely damaged a home.

The Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service (DSFRS) said three crews were dispatched to the property in Tiverton at 22:24 GMT on Sunday after reports of smoke coming from the back of a building.

Crews from Bampton and Tiverton were able to extinguish the fire with two hose reel jets and confirmed that all people were safe after entering the property wearing breathing apparatus.

DSFRS stated that it had launched an investigation into the fire, which caused “50% damage and 100% smoke damage to the property”.
