Pundit makes ‘excessive’ claim over potential Leeds United deal – player wants out of Elland Road.

Leeds United now has a good idea of what to do with its squad this summer. In the first week of the transfer window, targets are already being approached.

Leeds will reportedly have a large budget to spend. However, due to PSR, they will need to keep an eye on the books to balance them. There are currently several names associated with an Elland Road exit.

Other players’ names will undoubtedly become available for transfer later in the window.

Leeds United made three players available for sale this summer, including Joe Gelhardt. The forward returned to Elland Road after a loan spell at Hull City this season. Leeds are reportedly looking for £3-4 million for the 23-year-old.

Pundit Don Goodman believes this fee is too much for a player who only scored five goals on loan:

“We’ve spoken about Joe Gelhardt before in terms of him being bought by Hull City, and he’s done okay,” he told reporters.
