QD to open in Magdalen Street after leaving Anglia Square
The initial branch of a discount retailer which now has 50 shops throughout the country is set to open in its new premises.
One of the oldest stores in Norwich, QD was established in 1985 with a single store in Anglia Square.
The original store is being demolished as part of the £34 million renovation of Anglia Square, and the new location is in 52-56 Magdalen Street, which was once Aladdin’s Cave.
On May 8, at 9 a.m., Norwich City Councillor Maritn Schmierer will formally cut the ceremonial ribbon to mark the opening.
The new Magdalen Street store will continue to offer its high-quality products at unbeatable prices, and the first 100 customers to enter will receive a free goody bag.
“We’re incredibly proud of our history at Anglia Square, but we’re even more excited about the future on Magdalen Street,” said Jo Grief, store manager at QD Norwich.
“QD has always stood for great value, friendly service, and being at the heart of the community, and this move means we can deliver that better than ever.”
