Alex Neil’s side finished just two points behind the top six in the second tier this season and will now look to rebuild and make another playoff push next season. Fresh contract news from The Den will boost those hopes.

Despite concerns about the managerial situation at Loftus Road, QPR are reportedly interested in signing a Bundesliga 2 star. Here’s your Championship roundup.

QPR could compete with Championship rivals Stoke City for Fortuna Dusseldorf centre-back Jamil Siebert this summer, with the 23-year-old expected to leave Bundesliga 2.

Siebert’s contract expires in 2027, but journalist Lorenzo Lepore suggests he may leave Germany earlier. The defender has made 20 appearances for the team this season and was linked with a move to Serie A by Roma Press.

The former Germany under-21 international is a product of Fortuna Dusseldorf’s youth system and has spent his entire professional career with the club, though he did spend a season and a half on loan at Viktoria Koln between 2022-2023.

QPR recently extended the contract of centre-back Steve Cook and signed Liam Morrison to play in that position last summer. Jake Clarke-Salter, a consistent centre-back, suffered a series of injuries during the 2024/25 season.

Siebert won’t be cheap for Championship suitors. According to Get German Football News, a €6 million (£5 million) fee is required to complete a transfer, with a potential increase to €9 million (£7.5 million) if the club is promoted.

Millwall reached a contract agreement.

Millwall have reached an agreement with highly rated youngster Ra’ees Bangura-Williams to sign a new contract at The Den, in a major coup for the club.

According to the South London Press, the 20-year-old has extended his contract with the Lions until 2030. The midfielder joined the club from Tooting & Mitcham in December 2023, making his first-team debut in this season’s 3-0 FA Cup victory over Dagenham & Redbridge.

The winger scored in that game and went on to make 13 appearances in all competitions during the second half of the season, including three assists in the Championship. He hasn’t appeared since March due to an ankle injury. Bangura-Williams was also called up by England’s under-20 team in March, where he appeared off the bench in a 2-2 draw against Switzerland.

Because he is the same age as Romain Esse, the youngster is expected to be an ideal replacement for the former Lions player. Millwall sold Esse to Crystal Palace in January for £12 million.
