Kenneth Paal, the full-back, will leave west London after three years at Loftus Road to pursue new opportunities.

Conor Clark, Samuel Manufor, Harry Murphy, and Casey Shann will leave QPR’s Development Squad, and the club is still in talks with eight first-team players. One of them is Jimmy Dunne, the Player of the Year.

QPR look to deal Sheffield United transfer blow

The defensive cornerstone has been crucial to Marti Cifuentes’ success in London, but he has been linked with a move to Sheffield United. QPR were said to have fought off Blades interest in their star player last January, but transfer guru Alan Nixon has revealed that Sheffield United are still interested in the defender. Chris Wilder’s side came close to promotion to the Premier League, but were defeated by Sunderland in the Championship play-off final. If they had attained top flight status, relations with Dunne could have faded, but they have returned strong.

Dunne was anticipated to avoid signing a new QPR contract in order to pursue that move, but the club has announced that they are in talks with the player about extending his stay. That’s a plus for the Reds and a potential setback for any Blades transfer interest. Lucas Andersen, Jack Colback, Morgan Fox, Joel Halliday, Noah McCann, Kieran Petrie, and Nathan Shepperd are the other QPR players negotiating contract extensions. Cifuentes stated of Dunne in March 2024, following his amazing goal against Birmingham City: “He deserves everything. I’m extremely delighted for him. He is a high-quality human being.

“He will appreciate this moment, but when things didn’t go his way and he didn’t start a game, he was always first in training, cheering on his teammates and glad when they won. “Perhaps people underrate him. He has always played in the Championship, under different managers, and there is a reason for this. Sometimes players believe we remove them (from the team) because we don’t trust them. It isn’t because of that; it’s just because there is so much competition.

Charlton Athletic rival Rangers for free agent

The 22-year-old has impressed in the Scottish Premiership and has been linked with a move to Glasgow as Rangers assess his availability. The midfielder’s contract expires this summer, and he might join a new team as a free agent. The outlet also claims that Salford City could be an option for the player, who has spent his whole career thus far with Dundee.

When asked about the player’s future in April, former Dundee manager Tony Docherty said: “Josh is another of our academy graduates who has done exceptionally well. If these boys continue to achieve at this level, they will undoubtedly attract suitors. “This season, I gave him the No. 8 jersey and challenged him. His performance has consistently improved, and he has established himself as a key member of the squad. Last year, he may not have played as many games as he would have liked.

“However, there are instances when you have to demonstrate your ability to do so. He’s done it this year; he’s put his form on. Josh is in excellent shape, and it would not surprise me if he received notice because his performances deserved it.
