half turn are the qualities Moir outlined as being necessary for that position. I simply believe we haven’t had it.

“If you’ve watched us over the last few years, we may have had one or two midfielders who have been neat and tidy,

but when it comes to that progressive midfielder, we haven’t had that for a while.”

Despite not mentioning any qualified applicants, Moir believes the right man can lead the Hoops to greater heights.

It’s an essential missing component to that puzzle and something we really need. If they’re any good, that could

really change the game for us if it comes in.

“It could take us into a serious side because we’ve got good players around him in different positions, so if we were to

sign that progressive ball-carrier, then it would be massive for us.”

Moir believes that adding someone comfortable bringing the ball forwards out of defence and starting attacks would

“add a different dynamic” to the current QPR side.

“We could change things up and use Sam Field and Jonathan Varane as holding midfielders,” he added.

It would undoubtedly help a lot. Sometimes we could have a forward three and be more attacking, and other times

we could have a midfield three, which would be more balanced defensively.

“For me, this is a big priority, and fingers crossed we can bring someone in who fits that mould,” Moir said.

Julien Stephan is already well-positioned to succeed thanks to QPR’s acquisitions, even if you ignore the fact that the

former Rennes manager’s resume ranks him among the division’s best managers for the forthcoming campaign.

For a while now, the R’s have had trouble scoring. Even though they scored more goals than they did the previous
