According to X reporter Samir Djabali, QPR defender Ziyad Larkeche is close to signing a new long-term contract.
QPR are likely to give the full-back an extension. The Hoops are gearing up for another year in the Championship.
Larkeche, 22, spent last season on loan with Dundee. He appeared in 31 games across all competitions for the Scottish Premiership team, scoring three goals.
In the most recent update, journalist Djabali revealed on X that he is set for a new deal. He is about to sign another four-year contract, with the option of an additional 12 months.
He missed three months of the previous season due to injury and told BBC Sport: “When the doctor phoned me, I didn’t expect it because I’d never had an injury, so it was a big shock at first.
“But after that, you attempt to do the proper things to go back as fast as possible: improve your sleeping, your nutrition, and all the little elements like having excellent people around you; otherwise, you’re wasting your time. So even improving aspects like strategically by watching more football, which you may not be able to do while playing.”
QPR update for Ziyad Larkeche
QPR allowed Larkeche to join Dundee to gain further experience. He got plenty of playing time with the Scottish club and did well.
He progressed through the PSG program and became a regular for the Ligue 1 club at various youth levels.
The former France youth international moved to England in 2020 as a teenager and spent two seasons with Fulham.
Larkeche went on to make one appearance for the Whites’ first team and was loaned out to Barnsley before joining QPR. He has since appeared 22 times for the Rangers.

What now for QPR?
Keeping Larkeche for longer could be a wise choice by QPR. He hopes to be included in their senior plans for next semester.
He will add competition and depth to their defensive lineup. The player is still young and has the ability to improve in the future.
The Hoops have hired Julien Stephan as their new manager to replace Marti Cifuentes.
He has previously managed Rennes and Strasbourg and will be anxious to demonstrate his ability in English football now. Download our mobile app to receive more QPR news directly to your phone!
