According to West London Sport, QPR has received proposals from Rapid Vienna and FC Basel for Jonathan Varane, which are expected to be rejected.
QPR are set for a busy summer as they start on a new chapter under fresh management.
After a time of limbo while Martii Cifuentes was on gardening leave, it appears like the R’s are about to designate Julien Stephan as their new boss. He has a solid record in his home France with Stade Rennais and RC Strasbourg.

The focus will be on adding players to his roster, although there appears to be summer-long interest in midfield standout Jonathan Varane, with ongoing claims of bids for the 2024 acquisition.
According to West London Sport, two more offers have come in for the QPR star. According to them, Rapid Vienna and FC Basel have both made proposals for Varane.
However, just like the Espanyol one, these proposals are expected to be rejected by the Hoops as well. Saint Etienne have also recently been connected with the 23-year-old, and according to the source, they are ready to solidify their ambitious interest with an offer following their relegation to Ligue 2.

Varane connections are not going away.
Varane’s summer window is still in its early stages, but he has already sparked major international interest.
Following allegations of a bid from Espanyol, it appears that Rapid Vienna and Basel are the next to have an offer rejected. Saint Etienne appear to be the latest club to express interest in the highly sought-after midfield player.
QPR will undoubtedly hope to keep the midfield standout, but it might be a lengthy summer if bids for him continue at this rate. It is not impossible that interest will grow on our shores as well, albeit no links have yet been established.
QPR can be hard on bids.
QPR just signed Varane from Sporting Gijon last summer, for a reported £875,000.
Following a successful debut season in the Championship, the R’s signed him to a new deal after the season concluded.
Their action appears to have pre-empted substantial summer interest, putting them in a strong position to fend off bids for his services. Unless an irresistible offer comes in, the Hoops should be able to withstand bids for Varane.
He is currently a brilliant player, but he has the ability to improve even more, and with another strong season behind him, his price might skyrocket in the future. As a result, if QPR can maintain their strong position this summer, they will gain.
