With Julian Stephen’s appointment to QPR, the hard work has already started. The R’s have already confirmed a new signing, and players have already returned for testing and early workouts.
On Friday, the West London team announced that they had acquired defender Kealey Adamson from Macarthur, an Australian team. Defender Kealey Adamson has permanently joined QPR from Australian A-League team Macarthur FC, for an unknown price, according to a release. On July 1st, the 22-year-old right-back will formally join.
He continued by saying that Ollie Jones, a defender for Macarthur, was instrumental in the transaction and that “he’s a huge QPR fan.” He would simply enter the changing room and watch the conclusion of games and highlights, so I felt like there was a connection even though I was unaware of it. I was also keeping up with the outcomes before I realised there was any interest. After I briefly explained the interest, he exclaimed, “You’re going, you’re going, you’re going!” He was ecstatic.
Adamson stated, “I like to think I’m a very modern right-back,” when asked about his style of play. However, he is still only 22 years old, so it’s unclear how immediate his influence will be. I’m fortunate to have an engine and the speed to move ahead, attack frequently when I can, and still return and play solid defence. Work-rate, in my opinion, is the most important factor. I hope you’ll see two of me on the pitch because I’ll be at both ends of the pitch!
Defender wanted return After a successful loan stint last season, Vitoria de Guimaraes is reportedly interested in Hervertton Santos, another defensive player. According to West London Sport, the Portuguese team, who initially signed the defender on a temporary basis in January, wants to re-sign him.
Despite only joining QPR last summer, Santos’ relocation to the English capital hasn’t gone well thus far. According to reports, Vitoria has the option to purchase Santos for about £1.7 million, but they are eager to lower the asking price.
Since the R’s signed Santos for nothing, they would be profiting from the transaction and might lower the desired amount to complete the deal and earn some money for a player they are unlikely to want. However, it is possible that Stephen, the new manager, has a different opinion of the 24-year-old right-back.
