Reading FC average away following drops on last season
Since the team’s return to the third division in 2023, the Royals supporters have remained boisterous, patriotic, and devoted; last season, they averaged over 1,200 per game despite traveling to places like Carlisle and Fleetwood.
As anticipated, there has been a minor decrease in the amount of people traveling this season, with an average of 1,076 per game, as many stadiums are the same as they were the previous year.
This is still one of the greatest in League One, and although home attendance have decreased, they are still above 12,000 each game.
The largest traveling attendance for a single game at Charlton Athletics’ Valley last season was 2,518.
More than 1,000 fans traveled to 15 of the 23 games; the smallest single attendance was when 504 people traveled to Fleetwood on Valentine’s Day night for a 1-1 tie.
In contrast, 12 out of 23 games this season drew crowds of over 1,000, with the lowest number being 242 that traveled to Barnsley for a 2-2 tie in November.
Once more, Charlton Athletic’s Valley set the record with 2,665 when they traveled to South-East London in January.
Less than 1,000 traveling fans attended games against Bolton Wanderers, Rotherham United, Exeter City, Stockport County, Lincoln City, Burton Albion, Huddersfield Town, Wigan Athletic, Blackpool, and Shrewsbury Town.
