Reading FC transfer target ‘ready to make move’ to keep World Cup dream alive

Ronan Hale, a Reading FC transfer target, is reportedly’ready to make a move’ this summer to pursue his World Cup dream. Hale enjoyed a breakout season with Ross County in the Scottish Premiership last season, despite their relegation. The Northern Ireland international scored 18 goals in all competitions in his debut season for Ross County, after signing a three-year contract last summer.

According to the Belfast Telegraph, Hale is willing to move on in order to make it into Michael O’Neill’s team for Northern Ireland’s forthcoming World Cup qualifiers. Ross County chairman Roy MacGregor has previously suggested that any team interested in signing Hale must pay at least £1 million. Despite Reading’s interest in the striker, a number of other League One clubs, notably Wycombe Wanderers and Luton Town, are considering offers for the 26-year-old.

Reading manager Noel Hunt has confessed that he is still looking to add to his squad before the transfer window closes at the beginning of September, while CEO Joe Jacobson has stated that the club would sign at least four more players to strengthen the team.
