Dispatched Following Parkinson’s rejection, a Wrexham player has now clarified why he wished to join the “massive club.”

Several other former Wrexham players have started their 2025–2026 season elsewhere. Now, one of those has revealed why he chose to sign a contract with his new squad. After making an impression while on loan at Dundee United, Sam Dalby was offered a new contract with Wrexham in the middle of 2024–2025, but he declined. In just one season in the Scottish Premier League, the striker surpassed his goal total from his whole time in Wales.
He was therefore highly sought after this summer before Dalby decided to sign with Bolton Wanderers. The former Wrexham player has now discussed the reasons behind his transfer to Bolton. He stated: “A huge crowd and a fantastic stadium,” according to The Bolton News. It’s one of the main reasons I came here. It’s a huge club, and I’m grateful to be here. Regarding his recent injury problems, Dalby went on: “It obviously didn’t help with the injury right at the start of the season.” At the time, it was really disappointing.
But I simply continued to work hard and keep my head down. I just need to acquire more minutes and grow fitter and sharper now that I’m back. As previously stated, Dalby’s playing time for Bolton has been limited due to injury concerns over the summer. On August 20, he made his League One debut, playing 14 minutes off the bench against Reading. The 25-year-old played 16 minutes of Lincoln City’s 1-1 draw this past weekend.
