Report: Everton informed of how much Sheffield United will demand to sell Gustavo Hamer

Everton is one of the clubs hoping to lure Gustavo Hamer away from Sheffield United.

Everton will look to sign a new midfielder when the summer transfer window opens.

David Moyes and the Finch Farm recruitment staff have been working behind the scenes to prepare a list of potential transfer targets.

Abdoulaye Doucoure has already left Everton to pursue other opportunities. He may be followed on his way out of Merseyside, as Paris FC is interested in Idrissa Gana Gueye following their promotion to Ligue 1.

Regardless of Gueye’s future, Everton will need midfield reinforcements, and Gustavo Hamer of Sheffield United is one option.

How much does Sheffield United want to sell Everton?

Gustavo Hamer It has been suggested that Sheffield United are resigned to losing Hamer in the coming months.

The Blades lost their Play-Off final against Sunderland this weekend, casting doubt on the midfielder’s future.

According to Team Talk, Chris Wilder’s side would consider selling Hamer if a proposal of around £20 million was made at Bramall Lane.

Everton have reportedly enquired about the Dutchman, who had another successful season in the Championship.

Leeds United will compete with Everton for the midfielder’s signing, although the Blues are in desperate need of new players.

Everton have begun talks to sign Carlos Alcaraz permanently, following his short-term loan from Flamengo.

Hamer played in the Premier League in 2023/24, scoring four goals and assisting seven times, which is equal to Dwight McNeil’s total this season.

Hamer may provide David Moyes a lot of versatility.

With Everton in need of a lot of midfield players, Hamer’s versatility might make him the ideal candidate for Moyes.

Hamer has played in five different places this season, but the 27-year-old has been most productive in left midfield.

2024/25 Appearances Goals Assists
Left midfield 33 9 7
Attacking midfield 3 0 1
Second striker 1 0 0
Left wing 1 0 0
Central midfield 1 1 0

Everton have also expressed an interest in Sean Longstaff, who would undoubtedly add something new to Hamer.

The question is if the Toffees are willing to take a £20 million chance on a player with little Premier League experience at the age of 27.
