Report: Sheffield Wednesday expect to receive fresh cash boost as player wage and Danny Rohl updates emerge

Two new details about Sheffield Wednesday have emerged amid the club’s ongoing financial woes.

Sheffield Wednesday faced an important day on Monday, as manager Danny Rohl returned to training.

It comes after an eventful weekend in which a new name emerged as the Owls’ takeover candidate.

But, while there is said to be some progress in a potential takeover of Sheffield Wednesday, there is still the minor issue of players going unpaid.

Josh Windass wants to quit the club, and he is one of numerous stars who may have given their notice due to the organization’s reluctance to pay salary.

This week, an update on wages and information about Rohl’s return were supplied.

Sheffield Wednesday expects cash gain following player wage update

Sutura Kakay has decided to join Southampton, and the Yorkshire club will get compensation for the move.

In other news, Anthony Musaba is departing to join Turkish club Samsunspor, and Wednesday will benefit financially from the move.

The Star has now provided an update on the club’s wage payment status, with the July 15 deadline approaching.

Players who submitted their 15-day notice can depart for free if their wages are not paid, although it has been claimed that some stars received their paychecks on the evening of July 14, though who and how many remain unknown.

The Owls are also ‘expecting a lump amount’ when Djeidi Gassama’s transfer to Rangers is completed.

Danny Rohl met with Sheffield Wednesday players

Rohl and his players regrouped on Monday, and clear-the-air meetings are believed to have taken place.

The Star has also provided some insight into what happened between the German and Owls stars.

What was stated is unclear, however it is reported that ‘a open exchange of opinions was aired’.

Regardless of what was said at the meeting, EFL Analysis previously revealed that Sheffield Wednesday’s hierarchy essentially promised players that Rohl would not be fired, despite their dissatisfaction with his actions this summer.
