Retired Saints starlet surprises fans with ambitious return to football.

Southampton’s trophy-laden youth standout Gareth Bale has surprised the Saints by starting his club ownership adventure.

Southampton fans received another peek yesterday of how their club’s legends are recognised in top European circles. However, as a well-known talent factory, it is only natural that some of its academy graduates achieve respectable legendary status at some time in their playing careers. And who better than Gareth Bale? After all, he is a club legend in two places. Now, I’m not saying he should finish his Southampton homecoming and give it another shot at St. Mary’s, as many other fan favourites have.

It’s usually a good idea to be involved with English football, but it appears Bale has some other plans for the summer. According to the BBC, the childhood Saint is considering buying third-division club Plymouth Argyle.

Bale might complete the sporting turnaround at Plymouth Argyle

Well, they are now doing a lot of things over there. They just spoke with former Southampton coaching target Tom Cleverley, but turned down Ruben Selles. Surely, that did not go over well with the Southampton fan base, but who knows, Bale’s arrival may mend relations between the two teams. In the first place, Southampton will not face them on the pitch in the near future, but sweetening the transfer bond does not hurt either. Aside from that, let’s wish Bale the best of luck with his new enterprise and watch how this rumoured takeover plays out. If he oversees a stunning Wrexham-like progress, Bale may probably enter the elite group of both playing and owning a Premier League club, should Plymouth jump divisions quickly.

When it comes to Southampton, they appear to be stalled in the process of making transfer moves, therefore they may use some expert guidance to get their squad improvement plans on track.
