‘Right thing to do’ – Valerien Ismael Blackburn Rovers shares injury update regarding 27-year-old

The striker for Blackburn Rovers suffered a head injury during practice on Friday. As a precaution, they decided not to include him in their squad on Saturday.

To increase their chances of promotion, the Lancashire team defeated Watford 2-1 at home. Tyrhys Dolan and Todd Cantwell scored goals against the Hornets.

They are now just one point away from the playoffs and sit in eighth place in the table going into the last day. As they prepare to meet Sheffield United at Bramall Lane next, everything is on the line.

Ismael, who was chosen to replace John Eustace, provided the following update on Gueye’s health following their most recent triumph, according to a Lancashire Telegraph report: “He had an injury yesterday. He suffered from a sort of concussion. He landed on his head during the workout, but it wasn’t a true concussion. He was okay because he got a scan. It wasn’t an issue because he was conscious. After all, we didn’t want to take any chances. Therefore, at that time, it was the appropriate thing to do.

Gueye joined Blackburn Rovers in the summer of last year to give their striking unit greater depth and competitiveness. He signed a contract with Rovers that would last until June 2027 for three years.

At first, it took him several months to grasp English football. This season, he has made 32 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals, three of which have been in the league.

Before spending time at Nancy, Oostende, Real Zaragoza, and Molenbeek, the Senegalese player began his career at Saint-Etienne in France. Before Blackburn Rovers approached him, he scored 11 goals the previous season and was popular with the latter.

Gueye will need to be evaluated by Blackburn Rovers this week. Rovers will assess him and only allow him to play if he is prepared.

Ismael’s team has a chance to sneak into the top six thanks to their recent form improvement and the recent losses of Middlesbrough and Coventry City. However, they must win their next game and pray that the opposing teams lose.

Sheffield United will be a difficult challenge for Blackburn Rovers. The Blades defeated Stoke City 2-0 on the road last time out, but they lost to Burnley and Leeds United for the top two spots.
