Ferdinand Jr. began playing at the under-18 level three years ago and has since made appearances for the club’s U21 team. But now he’s been given his first professional contract. Last season, the 19-year-old shot-stopper went on a work experience loan to non-league side Havant and Waterlooville.

Ferdinand and his wife, Kate, expressed their pride by posting pictures of Lorenz’s official signing. They posted on Instagram, “A very proud moment for the family, Lorenz signing his first professional contract.”

“We are all so proud of you.”

Lorenz received numerous messages in response to Ferdinand’s post, including comments from some Manchester United players and football legends. Former Red Devils custodian Edwin van der Sar wrote, “Come on Lorenz, become the GK that you always wanted to be! “Good luck and safe hands!”

“Amazing,” ex-United defender Patrice Evra replied. Phil Neville, Robbie Keane, and Italian icon Christian Vieri all sent their congratulations.
