Ryan Mason’s priorities at West Brom include Spurs ‘advantage’ as summer transfer window plans revealed

It looks like Ryan Mason will have a busy summer at the Hawthorns during his first transfer window as manager of West Brom.

After leaving Spurs following their victory against Manchester United in the Europa League final, Ryan Mason was hired by West Brom this summer in his first permanent position as manager.

In a season that could be the greatest Championship campaign ever, Mason, 33, becomes one of the EFL’s youngest head coaches ever. At the Hawthorns, Mason takes over for Tony Mowbray, who led the team to a poor ninth-place finish in the 24/25 Championship table and missed out on play-off spots.

Mason has already hired two new coaches with whom he previously worked at Tottenham, so work has already started for the former Spurs midfielder.

West Brom‘s strategy for the current summer transfer window can now be better understood according to EFL Analysis.

Priorities for Ryan Mason at West Brom during the summer transfer window Tom Fellows,

a right-winger, was the star of West Brom’s 24/25 season, scoring four goals and dishing up 14 assists in 45 appearances in the second division. It was his greatest season ever.

In January, there were rumors that Fellows was on the verge of joining Everton. However, those rumors never came to pass, and he stayed at his boyhood club without inspiring a top-six finish.

Since West Brom anticipates Fellows leaving this summer, Mason’s first priority on his summer to-do list is finding a successor. The recently hired Baggies manager may use his Spurs connections to orchestrate a summer loan raid this summer.

“I think a big one would be the likely replacement of Fellows for them,” exclusively disclosed Graeme Bailey, Chief Football Correspondent for EFL Analysis. “I believe he will return to Spurs and have a quick look around.

Of course, Will Lankshear was also present. Thus, the two clubs already have a relationship there. I predict that at least one Spurs player will join West Brom this summer.
