Burnley manager Scott Parker has confirmed the club remains actively engaged in the transfer market, with plans to secure two or three additional signings before the September 1 deadline. While the Clarets have already acquired nine permanent additions this summer, Parker acknowledged that utilizing their two available Premier League loan slots could provide cost-effective reinforcements.

Loan Market a Viable Option
Speaking to the Burnley Express, Parker emphasized a measured approach to recruitment: “It’s definitely an avenue we’re exploring. While nothing is imminent at this stage, we’re clearly active. Our focus isn’t on mere squad depth—we want players who elevate quality and align with our philosophy.”

With two weeks remaining in the window, Parker anticipates further activity but also acknowledged potential departures from Burnley’s current oversized squad.

Managing Squad Turnover
The manager addressed the challenges of maintaining continuity amid frequent promotion and relegation cycles. “Ideally, excessive player turnover is undesirable,” Parker noted. “But for clubs transitioning between divisions, it’s often unavoidable. Players may depart after relegation, while promotion demands upgrades—it’s a constant balancing act.”

Since securing Championship promotion, Burnley has seen exits including CJ Egan-Riley, Josh Brownhill, and James Trafford‘s return to Manchester City. Parker stressed the importance of rebuilding team cohesion with new arrivals: “My responsibility is to integrate newcomers swiftly, reinstating last season’s culture while ensuring they understand our expectations.”

Parker’s comments highlight Burnley’s pragmatic strategy—leveraging loans for value while navigating the complexities of squad management in a fluid transfer landscape.
