Sheffield United are apparently competing with Swansea City to recruit Ethan Galbraith, a former Doncaster Rovers midfielder at Leyton Orient.
A cultured centre midfielder, the 24-year-old is a Manchester United academy product who was loaned out to Doncaster for the 2021/22 season.
While Doncaster was relegated, Galbraith made significant progress and was one of the bright spots in an otherwise disappointing season.
He has been a permanent member of the Orient squad since 2023 and has established himself as one of League One’s most highly regarded players.
Following their heartbreaking defeat in the League One play-off final, Orient are expected to receive bids for the Northern Ireland international.
Meanwhile, Sheffield United and Swansea City are expected to have busy summer transfer windows.
Galbraith’s impact in Doncaster
It’s difficult to be placed into a failing team as a kid, but Galbraith did excellently in a League Two squad. He made 36 appearances for the club, scoring one goal and providing three assists.
In March 2022, he told Doncaster’s website, “It’s been a fantastic experience.” When you’re in this situation, it’s clear who will be in the trenches beside you.

“Everyone in the team has got that spirit. It’s been a tremendous learning experience, and I’ll take the negative with the positive. As a team we just need to keep working hard and stick together.”
The midfielder also praised then-Doncaster manager Gary McSheffrey.
He stated, “He’s a terrific manager and a top guy in general, especially with the players. “He tries to get the best out of you, and builds your confidence, especially on the training pitch as well because the stuff he works on is very good.”
