Sheffield United could face a battle to keep hold of the player this summer. SUFC are gearing up for another year in the Championship.
Hamer, 28, has been a key player for the Blades since joining them in 2023. He is under contract at Bramall Lane until June 2027.
Journalist Hall has delivered his verdict, via DerbyshireLive: “Officially the best player in the Championship last season and an absolute joy to watch – not just for what he can do with the ball, but his terrier-like commitment to winning it back if he loses it. For a boy born in Brazil, he is a very Sheffield United type of player and the fanbase has taken him to their hearts as a result. If – and it remains a big if – they can keep him at Bramall Lane, their promotion hopes will multiply.”
Head coach Ruben Selles has recently told Sky Sports: “He’s a Sheffield United player and I want him to be a Sheffield United player when the market closes. Obviously I can’t control what happens in the future because the market is so fluid and dynamic but my intention is to keep him as one of our players.”
