Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl could reportedly make the final shortlist for the Rangers vacancy.
The 36-year-old appears to be on the verge of quitting Hillsborough, fueling speculation with hints about his future plans.
He has spoken of his stint as Owls manager in the past tense and maintained that owner Dejphon Chansiri is aware of his decision regarding his future.
Championship-bound clubs Southampton and Leicester City have both been connected with Rohl, as has Bundesliga club RB Leipzig.
There has also been speculation of admiring glances from Fulham and Crystal Palace, both of which are facing uncertainty about their own managers’ positions.

According to Sky Sports, Rohl could be in the running to replace Philippe Clement at Ibrox.
Rangers fired Clement earlier this year before giving the job to Barry Ferguson on an interim basis.
Former Barnsley defender Rob Edwards and former Middlesbrough midfielder Gary O’Neil are among those connected with the Scottish giants.
Rohl has spoken of his desire to play in the top tier, and while the Scottish Premiership is not one of Europe’s most glamorous divisions, there is a possibility to compete for a title.
European football may also appeal to Rohl, who took on his first managerial post when he was appointed on Wednesday, October 2023.
Last week, Rohl told Kicker: “I had a fantastic time at Sheffield Wednesday.” I have made no secret of my desire to work at the greatest level with the best players in the near future.
“The Bundesliga is, of course, an option. My situation in Sheffield is unofficially rather clear.
“I have a clear agreement with the owner about how I see my future. Unfortunately, I can’t go into detail about it right now.”
