Sheffield Wednesday get Manchester City prospect deal ‘approved’ as Aston Villa man linked

Sheffield Wednesday have reportedly had a deal to sign Manchester City’s Jaden Heskey approved – and have been linked with Aston Villa’s Zépiqueno Redmond.

The Owls have been unable to perform normal transfer business this summer due to well-documented off-field turmoil.

Ethan Horvath, the goalkeeper signed on loan from Cardiff City to replace the injured Pierce Charles, is the club’s sole addition this window.
The club’s transfer embargo allows for loan agreements, although reports suggest the EFL is evaluating prospective movements on a case-by-case basis.
It has been speculated that the parent club will have to pay the player’s wages in full, with Manchester United’s Harry Amass reportedly moving to S6 under this provision.

Manchester United's Harry Amass could join Sheffield Wednesday on loan before the deadline.

He could be joined at Hillsborough by Manchester City’s Heskey, the son of former Premier League hero Emile.

According to Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke, the EFL has authorized a potential loan deal for the 19-year-old, who can play up front or as an offensive midfielder.
O’Rourke said on X: “Understand Manchester City and the EFL have now approved Jaden Heskey’s loan move to Sheffield Wednesday.”
Meanwhile, The Star claims that Aston Vila’s Zépiqueno Redmond was considered at Hillsborough.

The highly rated Netherlands youth international forward has also been linked with Huddersfield Town.

Lee Grant admission

However, Terriers manager Lee Grant has stated that there may be no further additions to his squad.
He stated, “We are pleased to begin working with Will [Alves, new signing], but as things stand, no that is us.

“I don’t think we’ll conduct any more business as things stand now. I can’t make any promises, but I believe Will will be our last player in.

“I think, along with quite a few other managers, we will be happy to see 7pm this evening and the window shut.”
