To familiar surroundings, one of Sheffield Wednesday’s leaving players has already signed and finalized his future move.
Despite the off-field chaos plaguing the Owls, the football world continues to move on, and players are securing their futures elsewhere following the publishing of their retained and released lists last month.
Jack Hall, a gifted young goalie who spent a considerable amount of time progressing through the club’s youth systems, is one player who has already been sorted.
After a successful loan stint with the West Yorkshire club last season, the former England youth international, who signed his first professional contract with the Owls in 2021 and has spent a lot of time training with the seniors at Middlewood Road, has agreed to a one-year contract with Bradford (Park Avenue), a team in the Northern Premier League Division One East. Last season, the team played in the same tier as teams like Sheffield FC and Stocksbridge Park Steels.
The club’s “Development Fund” project, which encourages supporters to raise money to support the club’s expenses, has played a significant role in funding the move. Mark Beevers, a former Wednesday defender who is currently with Bradford, told our sister publication The Yorkshire Post that the team hopes to advance next season under manager Craig Elliott.
The 20-year-old Hall, who was a fan favorite during the previous season and spent time on loan at Horsfall Stadium, is getting back together with his new team. During a run of form that propelled The Green Army to a secure midtable position, he played 15 games and kept four clean sheets. He has also played for Bridlington Town on loan.

Despite never playing a senior game for Wednesday, Hall has long been well-liked by the team. According to The Star, Brighton & Hove Albion made a bid for the keeper a few years back, but the deal never went through.
