“Miss Alcock is very young and in some ways her manner is childlike,” observed Hamish Noble, who was mitigating.

health issues.

She has been detained on remand since December 23. Since being imprisoned, Alcock has been able to quit using

drugs, and the court was informed that she has demonstrated exceptional baking and cooking skills at HMP Foston

Hall.

“Miss Alcock is very young and in some ways her manner is childlike,” noted Hamish Noble, who was assisting with

the mitigation. In addition to her life circumstances and mental health difficulties, I would implore Your Honour to

consider her immaturity.

She was abusing alcohol, heroin, and monkey dust. Because she used drugs at the time of these charges, her benefits

were revoked. She herself was really vulnerable. She apologises through me for her actions and expresses regret.

“The store manager was only grabbed by the wrist; no one was hurt, but it was understandably shocking.”

“I acknowledge that the store manager was grabbed, but at least she had the courage to approach you. Many people,

including security officers, are afraid to face shoplifters.

Since you were 16, you have used drugs for an extended period of time. According to what I’ve read, you have a

genuine knack for baking and cooking, which you may develop further. You will be able to focus on using these

talents on the outside once you are released, as your sentences will become longer and longer. You have a lot of

incentive to participate, and I acknowledge that it is sincere.
