Daniel Cummings will depart Celtic this summer to join West Ham United. The 19-year-old attacker has passed his physical and will join the English club on July 1st, with a training compensation price of roughly £250,000 agreed upon.

Cummings has been an outstanding player for Celtic B this season, scoring 30 goals in competitive matches against adult clubs in the Lowland League. Celtic wanted to keep him, so Brendan Rodgers gave him his Champions League debut against Aston Villa to prove he had a future with the club.
Despite such attempts, Cummings had already spoken with West Ham early this year. Talks began in January regarding either a pre-contract agreement or a £500,000 transfer. Rodgers was reportedly furious with how the situation was handled and urged the players’ teammates to be patient and loyal to Celtic.
Finally, Cummings decided to move on. He won’t be attending West Ham’s academy as others suggested. Instead, he has been promised a place in the first-team squad by new manager Graham Potter, who intends to build a younger team.
Frank McAvennie has spoken out against Celtic for letting a talented youngster slip away. The former striker believes more might have been done to retain him in Glasgow.
