Sky Sports: Celtic eye move for 24 y/o Belgian who “wins games on his own”

In addition to their interest in center-forward target Mathias Kvistgaarden, Celtic may try to recruit a 24-year-old winger who “wins games on his own,” according to Sky Sports.

Kvistgaarden, a striker for Brondby, is anticipated to be pursued by Celtic again.
Following yet another Scottish Premiership victory, Celtic’s summer transfer transaction has already generated a lot of discussion ahead of the 2025–2026 season.

Although Brendan Rodgers’ team easily defeated Rangers to win the league, there may be a lot of arrivals and departures at Parkhead in the upcoming months.

Kieran Tierney has already signed a pre-contract deal with Arsenal, securing his return to Glasgow when his current contract ends.

A new center-forward has also been the subject of much conjecture, with Kvistgaarden being a long-term target at Celtic Park. Speaking about his future, Kvistgaarden recently made a suggestion that he is “ready” to walk away from Brondby in order to take on the next challenge of his career.

“I believe I’m prepared. I’m prepared to advance since I’ve established myself at Brondby and in the Superliga. I don’t believe that staying to play for Brondby the next season is my objective. That is not incorrect for me to state.

Celtic is “expected” to make another attempt to sign Kvistgaarden this summer, “with the Swedish club sticking to their £10m-plus price tag,” according to Sky Sports writer Anthony Joseph. But the Hoops have their sights set on more than simply Kvistgaarden in the closing stanza.

Celtic could sign 24 y/o Antwerp winger Balikwisha

Michel-Ange Balikwisha, a winger for Royal Antwerp, is another possible summer addition, according to Joseph of Sky Sports.

The Hoops’ recruiting team has been pleased by the 24-year-old, and Celtic may try to sign Balikwisha before the 25–26 season begins.

Although Celtic currently has a large number of wide players on the roster, the club is also interested in Sarpsborg winger Sondre Orjasaeter. Though they are open to offers for Palma and Tilio, Jota, Daizen Maeda, Hyun-jun Yang, James Forrest, Nicolas Kuhn, Luis Palma, and Marco Tilio are all under contract.

Balikwisha, a Belgian attacker who has been described as a player “who can win games on his own,” will provide Rodgers options on the left, right, and as a second striker should he go to Scotland.

Balikwisha has been a consistent player since joining Antwerp from Standard Liege in 2021, but he has had injury problems in 24/25, which Celtic would be concerned about if they decide to pursue a deal.
