Sky Sports pundit backs Ipswich Town to explore Emmanuel Latte Lath transfer—but one issue raised

According to Don Goodman, Emmanuel Latte Lath would be the front-runner for the Championship Golden Boot if

he were to sign a contract with Ipswich Town this summer.

According to reports from last year’s summer transfer window, Middlesbrough turned down the Suffolk team’s £20

million offer for the player.

In the January transfer window, the forward left the Riverside to join Atlanta United in Major League Soccer.

However, it was reported earlier this summer that the Tractor Boys are considering sending the 26-year-old back to

England to play football as a possible Liam Delap successor.

Don Goodman makes Emmanuel Latte Lath’s claim to Ipswich.

Whether Ipswich could even persuade Latte Lath to return to English football after relocating to America earlier this

year is debatable, according to Goodman.

But he thinks that if the 26-year-old moved to Portman Road, he might become the division’s top scorer.

“To be fair, it’s not the same prolific striker that we saw at Middlesbrough,” Goodman exclusively told Football

League World, referring to Emmanuel Latte Lath, who departed Middlesbrough for Atlanta United and scored five

goals in I believe 19 starts.

Therefore, it hasn’t gone particularly well; for him, it’s gone alright.

Would he be amenable to returning to England? It’s up for debate.

I’m very certain that a sizable salary was a primary factor in his decision to leave Middlesbrough; could Ipswich

match or even come close to that? Debatable.

However, I’m fairly certain he would be among the favourites to be the top scorer if Ipswich could convince him to

return and play in the Championship the following season.

“So it would be worth looking into for them, but we’ll see if they can pull it off or not.”

So far this summer, Ipswich has only signed one player, David Button, who left Reading as a free agent.

Latte Lath signing has potential for Ipswich

Delap was lost to Chelsea, thus Ipswich will probably want to add someone to the team to replace him.

To fight for automatic promotion, the Tractor Boys will also need goals, and Latte Lath has proven he can score at

this level.

His MLS record hasn’t been that impressive, but he has been adapting to his new environment, so maybe Ipswich

can ignore that.

If Latte Lath hasn’t been able to settle in Atlanta, it would be worthwhile to try to get a deal, which could make him

accessible at a fair price. However, any chase will ultimately be evaluated based on the potential fee involved.
