Sky Sports: Sunderland Want to Sign £50m ‘Goal Machine’ After Guiu

Sunderland have added RB Leipzig’s Lois Openda to their shortlist after agreeing to sign Marc Guiu, according to Sky Sports.

After securing their return to the Premier League with their playoff victory in May, manager Regis Le Bris has added Enzo Le Fee, Habib Diarra, Simon Adingra, Chemsdine Talbi, Noah Sadiki, Reinildo, Granit Xhaka, and Robin Roefs.

The club has already reached a deal with Chelsea to bring teenage forward Marc Guiu on loan for the upcoming season, but they are also considering a move for this Bundesliga star.

Sunderland Eyes Openda Move

Openda, dubbed as a ‘goal machine’, has surfaced as a target for the newly promoted team, despite Leipzig’s valuation of him at over £50 million.

However, according to Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, it is questionable whether Leipzig will approve an exit for the Belgium international given the current uncertainty surrounding the futures of Benjamin Sesko and Xavi Simons.

Sesko is presently regarded as a key target for both Newcastle United and Manchester United, with the Magpies making a £70 million bid for the Slovenian, while Chelsea are thought to be in advanced talks about a deal for Simons.

Neither player took part in the Bundesliga club’s pre-season game on Saturday, with Sesko informing teammates that he is leaving the club soon.
