BURNLEY has been crowned the friendliest place in the country with experts celebrating the town’s family support
and neighbourly love.
According to a prominent think group, the municipality has excelled in communal spirit, according to a nationwide
report. The index gauges prosperity by looking at things like wealth, the environment, the standard of education,
people’s sense of safety, and how well they get along with their neighbours.
Researchers examined the town’s strong family ties and the degree to which residents could rely on their friends in
difficult circumstances.
Julie Cooper, the town’s MP, expressed her happiness after Burnley’s latest victory.
“But I’m not shocked. I frequently hear visitors remark on how kind and friendly the people of Burnley are, which
adds to the area’s allure.
Index survey revealed that Burnley has the lowest housing costs in the nation, with Kensington and Chelsea being
the priciest neighbourhoods.
“I’m really happy that Burnley is a place where people can rely on,” stated Cllr. Gordon Birtwistle, the former
Member of Parliament for the town and the leader of the liberal Democrats on Burnley Council.
In the past, you could stop by your neighbour for a cup of sugar or whatever, and they would be more than pleased to
assist. However, people are still quite friendly nowadays.
It’s about belonging to a community, and Burnley has a fantastic one. Although we may all be a little different from
one another, we all share a lot of characteristics.
As a member of parliament, I recall addressing large crowds in London, which reaffirmed the friendliness of the
North.
“A lot of people didn’t have time to be friendly they just got their head down and did their work.
“I’m thrilled, I am very happy we have been highlighted like this.”
Brent was London’s worst borough for neighbourly love.
Businesspeople in Burnley expressed that they were not shocked by the town’s concern for its neighbours.
“To be fair, Burnley has a lot to be happy about, so it’s no surprise we’re so friendly,” said Ian Bythell, director of
Petty Residential. “Great countryside, surrounding villages with high-quality affordable housing, great amenities,
and even a Premier League football club.”
When we show visitors around Pettys, they are consistently struck by how hospitable the locals are.
“I think it’s because of the immense pride we all feel.
“I can’t imagine why anybody would want to live anywhere else.”
Andy Brown, managing director of Crow Wood Leisure in Royle Lane, said: “It comes as no surprise to me that
Burnley has been named at the top.
We frequently state that Crow Wood is a social club where people congregate rather than a fitness club.
“People travel up to fifty miles to visit our spa, and they frequently remark on how welcoming the entire staff is.”
Karen Hunt, manager of Parker Lane’s disability charity Scope, said she had developed wonderful friendships with
her clients over the years.
Making relationships is incredibly crucial and a terrific way to keep people coming back,” she said.
“Burnley is a really kind place and it’s no surprise it has the most support in the country.”
According to 79-year-old Burnley native David Taylor, the town was made by its residents.
“It has always been a great town to live in,” he remarked. Here, I’ve met many wonderful folks.
“It’s wonderful to see Burnley achieve another success.”
“It’s wonderful news that a nationwide survey has confirmed what we already knew, that Burnley is the friendliest
place in the country,” said Cllr. Mark Townsend, the leader of Burnley Council.
“Everyone is welcome here, and it’s a great place to live.”
