‘Sold’: Senior Lazio figure makes Loum Tchaouna claim amid Burnley’s transfer interest
Last week, the Clarets had a busy transfer week, adding not one, not two, but three new players for their Premier
League comeback.
When Scott Parker’s team signed four of the loanees from the previous season to permanent contracts—Bashir
Humphreys, Jaidon Anthony, Marcus Edwards, and Zian Flemming—they had already made a strong start to the
2025–26 season.
But since then, goalkeeper Max Weiss, left-back Quilindschy Hartman and versatile defender Axel Tuanzebe have all
signed on the dotted line.
According to recent Italian rumours, an offer of about €15 million (£12.78 million) is anticipated to be accepted.
Claudio Lotito, president of Lazio, has now provided an update on the issue while talking about summer interest in a
few of his team’s players.
He said Il Messaggero, “They offered me €40 million for Castellanos.” The same is true for Zaccagni, Gila, and
Rovella. Next are €15 million for Romagnoli, €25 million for Isaksen, and €35 million for Tavares.
“I sold Tchaouna for €15m. But I don’t want to dismantle the team.”
Tchaouna would have competition for a starting position from players like Anthony, Edwards, and Luca Koleosho if
he signed. However, he is also capable of playing as a number 10.
Last season, the 21-year-old made 37 appearances for Lazio, although he only started six league games, meaning that
the great majority of his cameos came off the bench.
During Lazio’s Europa League campaign, which finished in the quarterfinals, the wide player played teams like
Porto, Ajax, and Real Sociedad.
While Tchaouna was born in Chad, he moved to France at a young age and represents them at international level.
He’s recently been away at the Under-21 European Championships, featuring in all four of their games.
Former Claret Wilson Odobert, now at Tottenham, was also part of the French squad.
Prior to playing for their first club, Tchaouna earned his senior debut with Rennes II in 2020. Additionally, the
winger played on loan at Dijon, where his brother Haroun is currently a player.
In 2023, he made his first significant move as he joined Salernitana of Serie A. Tchaouna scored six goals in 35
games and was regarded as one of their key players despite their relegation to Serie B.
He moved to Lazio for €8.4 million (£7.15 million) because of his form, and he has already scored twice.
