The Hoops previously attempted to sign the Norwegian winger during the winter transfer window.
Sarpsborg’s sporting director, Hampus Andersson, has stated that Celtic have yet to renew their interest in winger Sondre Orjasaeter this summer.
The Hoops have long admired the forward, and the Norwegian Under-21 cap came close to joining Brendan Rodgers’ side in January but thought he wasn’t ready to make the step up to the Premiership.
Sarpsborg rejected a £4 million bid in January, and it is believed that the club may seek up to £7 million for the highly rated 21-year-old.
Michel-Ange Balikwisha of Royal Antwerp is one of the long-term objectives on Rodgers’ list as the Parkhead chiefs attempt to replace Nicolas Kuhn, who has moved to Como for a large sum of money.
But Orjasaeter appears to have fallen down the pecking order. When asked about interest in the attacker this summer, Andersson told Sarpsborg Arbeiderblad: “It is obvious that there will be a lot of interest when he performs at his current level.
“But it has been quiet around players like Sondre who had a very hectic transfer window in the winter.”

Earlier this summer, Orjasaeter stated that he was eager to advance his career outside of Norway: “Now I feel ready to take the step, while I am doing well here with full focus on Sarpsborg.”
“I believe that if something happens, it occurs. It’s not like I’ll be down if there’s no transfer.”
Rodgers has previously stated that he wants to add additional firepower to the team after losing Kuhn, Kyogo, and Matt O’Riley in the previous three windows.
Simon Donnelly believes the board must provide two more deals before the Champions League qualifiers to meet the boss’s desire.
He told the Sunday Post: “They had a fantastic season last year and proved they belonged among the top.
“The new structure of eight group games suited Celtic well, and they achieved some excellent results. It led to the quarterfinal game versus Bayern Munich, and the lads were so close.
“It was painful to lose to the Germans in the final minute, but it demonstrates you can never relax at that level. Nonetheless, the squad will benefit from the experience and can put it to use the following month.
“Callum McGregor, Cameron Carter-Vickers, and Kasper Schmeichel will ensure that all players are focused and aware of their responsibilities on the pitch.
“There are also likely to be a few more signings between now and then. Brendan has made it plain that new recruits are required, and that there will be a lot of work behind the scenes to get things done.
“The new signings will need to get started right away, and they will be encouraged to do so.
“Having Kieran Tierney back at the club is very beneficial. That’s a wonderful signing.
“He is one of the best players our country has produced in recent years, and his big-game experience will be extremely valuable.
“One of the reasons he came back was to play regular football at the highest level. That is exactly what the Champions League is.
“Kieran will help motivate the team, and it would be fantastic for everyone to see such early success in the campaign. “The financial advantages are enormous.
However, Brendan and the players are more concerned with prestige. Brendan is a superb operator, and his staff will be prepared to do whatever is required.”
