‘Soon as possible’ – EFL boss tells media he wants new job in interview from current club’s office.

Danny Rohl has stated that he dreams of managing in the Bundesliga and is prepared to quit Sheffield Wednesday as soon as feasible.
The 36-year-old took over the Owls in October 2023 for his first managerial post, successfully guiding them to Championship safety on the final day of the season.
Wednesday appeared resigned to a return to League One after former manager Xisco Munoz failed to win any of the first ten games, earning only two points. And, after falling seven points under safety, the Yorkshire team experienced a revival under Rohl, who oversaw 51 points as they finished in 20th place. In his first full season with the club, the German led Wednesday to a top-half finish, finishing 12th in the table with 58 points. Rohl may be on his way out this summer after impressing at Wednesday, a club plagued by recurring financial problems and transfer embargos. TalkSPORT revealed last month that the former Bayern Munich and Southampton assistant manager had opted to depart the club.
Rohl, a candidate for Middlesbrough’s management post, has also been connected with a return to his country, with German clubs interested. Rohl was ready to promote a return to the Bundesliga when chatting with BILD, whom he welcomed to his Hillsborough office. When asked when he plans to return to the German top-flight, Rohl stated that he hopes to do it as soon as feasible. The Bundesliga is clearly special since I grew up watching it. For me, it is always about performing at the top level. “I want to compete against the finest teams and coaches.
“It feels good that my name is constantly being mentioned both here in England and in Germany. But I also know that football is fast-paced.
“The last 18 or 19 months are no excuse to relax. I stay quite ambitious. “And I’m always willing to work hard. We’ll see what happens this summer.”
