Southampton want £20m to seal deal – Intention is loan with option to purchase

According to Turkish media, Southampton wants £20 million for the transfer of Aaron Ramsdale. The 27-year-old has been linked with a move to Galatasaray in recent days, as the Super Lig champions aim to add an experienced goalkeeper.

The player’s departure from Southampton was at least half expected since relegation to the Championship was confirmed. According to Galatasaray reporter Kağan Dursun, the Turkish club contacted Southampton and the player to understand their requests.

He went on to claim that, despite Southampton’s request for £20 million for Ramsdale, Gala intends to loan the goalkeeper with the option to buy. “Galatasaray has inquired about the conditions of Aaron Ramsdale’s contract with Southampton.

Ramsdale is not an agent recommendation; he is a goalie who Galatasaray chose based on their own preferences. Ramsdale’s salary demand is €6 million, while Southampton’s cost is £20 million. “Galatasaray intends to rent + option,” the Turkish journalist stated.

Veteran goalkeeper Fernando Muslera recently said his goodbyes to Cimbom, with his contract expiring at the end of the month, and Ramsdale has emerged as an alternative for them.

Liverpool’s Alisson has also been connected in recent weeks, but the Brazilian’s demands have made matters difficult for the Istanbul club.

Ramsdale made 30 Premier League games last season and has a contract with the Saints until June 2028.
