
Southsea man arrested after potential acid attack and attempted assault – police appeal for witnesses.
A Southsea man was arrested after a man reported that acid had been thrown at him.
The 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted wounding with intent after an incident on Albert Road around 7.30 p.m. on Saturday, May 3. A man in his 30s was chased by a man wielding an extendable baton, and then acid was thrown at him.
Police are asking for any witnesses to come forward. A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary stated that officers are seeking witnesses for an assault in Southsea.
“A man in his 30s was chased down Albert Road by another man wielding an extendable baton. It was also reported that he attempted to throw acid at him. During our investigation, a 33-year-old man from Southsea was arrested on suspicion of attempted wounding with intent. He’s been released on police bail.
