Sporting director confirms imminent Leeds United signing – Daniel Farke gets his man
Leeds United drew 0-0 with Manchester United in Stockholm on Saturday to begin their preseason campaign. The
club is putting a lot of effort into getting a few more new players into the squad by the time they play Villarreal in
early August.
At the conclusion of last week, Sean Longstaff became the newest member of the Whites’ five-player acquisition.
Although Jaka Bijol and Gabriel Gudmundsson, a former Newcastle player, dazzled onlookers with their efforts
against Manchester United, Leeds hopes to bolster their roster in the days ahead.
Leeds are still in the market for a striker and another wide forward, and the club are working on bringing in a new
goalkeeper to replace Illan Meslier, who played in the second half against Manchester United on Saturday.
The Whites are also keen to bring in cover at left-back, and the club are progressing towards finalising the transfer of
Hoffenheim’s 26-year-old midfielder Anton Stach in the coming days.
Hoffenheim sporting director confirms Stach’s imminent move to Leeds United
Last week, Stach signed a personal contract with Leeds, and the club has been negotiating with the German team to
bring him to Elland Road.
On Saturday, it was revealed that Leeds had reached an agreement to pay more than £17 million plus add-ons to
Hoffenheim for the midfield player.
Before Stach is allowed to fly to England to finish the transfer procedures, the two clubs are now working to finalise
the agreement’s specifics.
Andreas Schicker, the sports director for Hoffenheim, stated that the midfield player is nearing a transfer and that
the team is already in the process of finding a replacement.
“It’s clearly moving toward a transfer. Only the details still need to be clarified”, Schicker told Kicker.
“We’re keeping an eye on the transfer market to find a new player.”
Daniel Farke gets his dominant number 6
The 26-year-old midfielder will be a brilliant signing for Leeds and will fit perfectly with what the Whites want to do
in the Premier League next season.
The acquisitions have made it abundantly evident that Daniel Farke has concentrated on creating a physically
superior club for the top division.
Stach will provide their midfield height and physical strength, and his defensive instincts will be a huge asset to a
club that will likely be under pressure in the majority of games next season.
Next season, the Leeds manager does not want his club to be harassed by better teams, and the Hoffenheim
midfielder will help make sure of that.
Additionally, Stach gives the team additional versatility, allowing Farke to experiment with his midfielders in the
Premier League.
