
St Stephens Street in Norwich closed due to police incident.
A major road in Norwich has reopened after several hours of police activity.
The force shut down St Stephens Street around 3pm on Sunday afternoon.
The incident is believed to have been related to safety concerns for a man.
The incident is believed to be about a man’s safety. (Image: Newsquest). Two fire engines, an ambulance, and four police cars were on the road, with a cordon between the Chantry Place entrance and the St Stephens roundabout.
At about 5 p.m., two more police cars and a police van arrived on the scene.
Around 5 p.m., more police officers arrived on the scene. The road reopened half an hour later.
The road reopened at around 5.30pm.
Chantry Place security guards were seen helping to guard the police line outside the shopping center’s entrance.

Buses operated on Theatre Street and Chapelfield, with Charcoal line services departing from Norwich Bus Station.
Once the road reopened, services resumed as usual.
