Hull City, Hull City ‘still hopeful’ of signing striker amid Sheffield United and Swansea City interest, reporter suggests

Hull City are ‘still hopeful’ of signing Las Palmas striker Oli McBurnie, according to BBC Humberside Sport reporter Mike White on X.

Hull City are keen on luring the attacker back to England this summer. HCAFC stayed up on goal difference in the Championship this past season.

McBurnie, 28, is free to leave Las Palmas over the next couple of months following their relegation from La Liga. Sheffield United, Swansea City and Celta Vigo are said to be interested, as per journalist Alan Nixon on his Patreon page.

In this latest update, editor White has reported on X that the Tigers are still trying to snap him up. Sergej Jakirovic is set to be named as their replacement for Ruben Selles.

After moving abroad 12 months ago, McBurnie said, as per the Daily Mail: “It’s difficult when you don’t have a full grasp of the language and being the loud person that I am, it’s quite challenging. A few of the lads speak really good English and even the ones that don’t try, which is really nice and welcoming. But I don’t want them to. I want them to converse in Spanish and me to be able to converse with them in Spanish as well.”
