Stoke City will be out to record a fourth win in five matches at the bet365 Stadium

When Stoke City hosts Sheffield United at ST4 on Friday (8 p.m. kickoff), their final home game of the 24–25 season,

they will be looking to earn their fourth victory in five games at the bet365 Stadium.

Mark Robins’ side have recorded victories over Blackburn Rovers, Queens Park Rangers and Sheffield Wednesday on

home soil since mid-March.

Since the middle of February, the Potters have gone undefeated in their last six games at the bet365 Stadium thanks

to a string of three-point plays.

City must match or defeat a United team that will finish the season in third place and qualify for the playoffs if they

want to prolong their run in ST4.

Chris Wilder’s club has won 27 games since returning to the Championship, which is tied with leaders Leeds United.

However, the Blades’ season will be extended into at least mid-May due to their Easter Monday loss to Burnley and a

two-point deduction.

REF WATCH

Mark Robins’ team will play Sheffield United, and Jarred Gillett will officiate his first City game in over three and a

half years.

In the first month of the 21/22 season, the Potters lost 3-0 against Fulham, and the Australian official was in the

middle.

The final time Gillett refereed a game involving the red side of Sheffiel was during the Blades’ 2-1 loss to Manchester

City at the beginning of the previous season.

In the 24/25 domestic and European football season, the official has given out 77 yellow cards and one red card in 19

games. Additionally, he has been called for a penalty three times.

The official’s most recent appointment was for last Saturday’s Premier League match between Aston Villa and

Newcastle United.

Marc Perry and Adam Nunn will help Gillett at the bet365 Stadium on Friday. As the fourth official, Anthony

Backhouse has been selected.
