Sunderland have joined West Ham United and Brentford in the pursuit of Fiorentina midfielder Amir Richardson, as manager Regis Le Bris looks to further bolster his squad ahead of the new season.
Strong Pre-Season Start for Black Cats
The newly promoted side kicked off their pre-season preparations in impressive fashion, securing a convincing 4-0 victory over South Shields. New signing Habib Diarra made his debut in the match, featuring for the first 45 minutes, while fellow summer arrival Noah Sadiki also aims to establish himself in Le Bris’ midfield plans.

Premier League Competition for Richardson
According to reports from La Repubblica (via Fiorentina News), the 23-year-old Moroccan has attracted interest from multiple English clubs. While Brentford previously explored a move during January negotiations for Michael Kayode, West Ham’s interest stems from potential midfield reshuffles, with Edson Álvarez‘s future uncertain and Guido Rodríguez struggling to adapt.
Fiorentina’s Stance on Potential Sale
Despite growing interest, Richardson’s agent Diego Tavano has suggested the Serie A club are reluctant to part ways with the midfielder. However, Corriere dello Sport (via Hammers News) indicates Fiorentina could be persuaded by offers meeting their £8.5 million valuation.
