Sunderland ‘In talks’ to sign star expected to be ‘Market man’

Sunderland are in talks to sign an attacker who was tipped to be a ‘market man’ this summer due to the level of interest he was expected to generate.

Regis Le Bris has watched Tommy Watson and Jobe Bellingham leave a squad that achieved promotion to the Premier League last season.

Midfielder Pierre Ekwah, who was on loan at Saint-Etienne, is also poised to leave, with a permanent move to the French club possible.

Le Bris is now seeking for another Frenchman to join Sunderland’s assault, specifically Armand Lauriente of Sassuolo.

He helped Sassuolo win Serie B in Italy recently, was named Player of the Season, and is projected to be a’market man’ this summer because to the high degree of demand.

Sunderland have now begun their efforts to sign the attacker, and according to writer Matteo Moretto, they are ‘in talks’ with Sassuolo about a transfer.

Le Bris believes the 26-year-old would be a valuable addition to Sunderland’s attack, and the club is working to make that happen.

It is uncertain how much Lauriente will cost Sunderland, and losing him would be a significant loss for Sassuolo as they prepare to compete in Serie A.
In the summer of 2022, the Italian side signed him from his previous club, Lorient.

He continued with Sassuolo when they were relegated to Serie B, where he scored 18 goals in the most recent season to help them return to Serie A.

Lauriente, on the other hand, appears to be looking forward to the opportunity to play for Le Bris in the Premier League.

If the trade goes through, he will join Enzo Le Fee in moving from Italian football to Sunderland.
